National Dressage Championships 2002Irish Draught Horse Society Trophy, a perpetual trophy to be presented at the National Dressage Championships of Ireland annually in order to promote the Irish Draught Horse and encourage riders to consider the breed as suitable for Dressage. Registered Irish Draught Horses have been competing successfully in the Dressage arenas in the U.K. and U.S.A. and a limited number here in Ireland. There are regular requests from Irish Draught enthusiasts abroad for R.I.D.’s with Performance records especially Dressage. The inclusion of Dressage at the Breed National Show in recent years shows the growing awareness to the sport of Dressage. The breed has also made a huge contribution to many I.S.H. now competing at home and abroad. The recipient of the Trophy to be the highest placed full R.I.D. at the Championships.
